Professional Workshop Series: Creative Business Law Basics Workshop with TVC

Tualatin Valley Creates (TVC) offers workshops as a way for artists to connect while learning about important and interesting topics. In November, 2024, TVC is teaming up with workshop presenter Ryan Mauck, Attorney, Principal with Aspect Law Group and Board member of the Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

 This fall TVC Workshop Series continues with the informative topic- Creative Business Law Basics on Thursday November 7th from 5:00-6:30 pm. 

 Topics included in this workshop are:

1.     What is  an LLC, and Do I Need One?

2.     Maintaining a Healthy and Legal Business

3.     Contracts

4.     Copyrights and Trademarks

5.     Where to Get Legal Help 

Who: Ryan Mauck has been helping artists, entertainment companies and other businesses navigate their legal questions and challenges for the past 22 years. Growing up in a family that included multiple artists, he studied theater and filmmaking (including a short stint as a professional film editor) in college, before attending UCLA School of Law, where he was co-Editor-in-Chief of UCLA's Entertainment Law Review. After graduating in 2002 and interning at Warner Bros. Pictures, he spent the next fifteen years at the Los Angeles law firm Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell. He relocated to Bend, Oregon in 2019, and now leads Aspect Law Group, which provides legal support to artists and creators, as well as serving as President of the Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
